In partnership with the Mall at Millenia, Bloomingdales and businesses from around Central Florida, Project Opioid's inaugural Advocacy Gala will showcase a high-fashion runway show and silent auction!
Walking the catwalk alongside professional models, will be individuals recovering from OUD and those who have lost loved ones from opioid related death and addiction. Throughout the show testimonial videos from the families of victims, and of survivors will play.
Our goal being to showcase how OUD can impact any of us, no matter our circumstances, and raise the necessary funding to successfully launch "What's The Fix?", our Advocacy and Awareness campaign, in full force.
We implore Central Floridians to help Project Opioid SAVE LIVES by supporting and attending Runway to Recovery this November.
Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and addiction is one of the biggest problems facing our nation today, and Central Florida is not immune to it's effects.
That is why Project Opioid is such an important venture and why we are seeking the support of our community to help us complete our work. We want to do everything that is necessary to position our community to address a crisis that is threatening lives.
Established in January 2019, Project Opioid was created as our community’s response to the rise of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and resulting deaths within Central Florida. We seek to create a “new frontline” on the opioid crisis utilizing community, business and faith leaders from around Central Florida.
To that end, the inaugural Project Opioid fundraising gala, Runway to Recovery will take place at 6pm on Friday, November 22nd, 2019 at the Citrus Club in Downtown Orlando. This event will signify our advancement into phase two of Project Opioid.
Now that we have the dedication of Business, Faith and Community Leaders across Central Florida as well as the support of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Project Opioid is beginning the work on it’s more far-reaching goals:
Improving and broadening access to treatment and recovery options and medications;
Dispelling the stigma of addiction; and
Educating the public on the dangers of OUD.
To embark on the second phase of Project Opioid, Runway to Recovery will launch our advocacy and awareness campaign, “What’s The Fix?” and aim to raise funds to provide the broadest reach possible in the fight against Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).
"If you have been personally affected by the opioid epidemic in Central Florida, we want to hear from you. Your experiences matter and your voice matters. Share your story or be part of a focus group for our upcoming prevention and awareness campaign."
Project Opioid has been blessed with tremendous support since it's inception allowing for us to build the foundation of an organization that can help save lives and combat the opioid epidemic in Central Florida.
But We need the help of Central Floridians like you to embark on the second phase of Project Opioid! Runway to Recovery must be the launching pad for our advocacy and awareness campaign, “What’s The Fix?”
We have built the storyboard for a comprehensive and immersive Advocacy and Awareness campaign titled “What’s the FIX?” that will educate Central Floridians on the opioid crisis and dissolve the stigma on OUD and addiction. Phase two of Project Opioid needs your support now, more than ever!
Your partnership will help to create the necessary content for “What’s the FIX?” to be a success. From In-depth interviews to TV and Social Media commercial campaigns. From Print and Media advertising and marketing materials to Billboard and Public Transit Advertising. Community events and pill take-backs across Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties will push Central Florida to be a leader in the fight against opioids!
